Marchington Festival at a Glance

Marchington Festival at a Glance

Marchington is a small picturesque village in East Staffordshire, England. It lies between the towns of Burton upon Trent and Uttoxeter.

Every year in June, we hold a village festival bringing together our village organisations for an action-packed weekend of fun! Open Gardens, Sporting events, Food, art and craft events, live music, and much more!

Marchington will come alive with a whole range of exciting activities and attractions for the community to get involved in.

Our village had its own Christmas tree this year outside the village hall.

We had a carol singing event, Santa visit and Christmas lights switch on on 5th December, all in aid of the festive.

We had a great evening, thanks for your support. x

A Bit About Us - The History

Marchington Village Festival was established in 2015 to unite our community and celebrate its many societies, groups and organisations. 12 groups participated in the inaugural 2-day festival in June 2016, including music, art, cultural and sport societies as well as the village school, church, shop, public houses and almshouses.
Activities included sporting and musical events, open gardens, flower festival, and art and craft exhibitions.
In 2017, 2018 and 2019 the festival continued to grow, with more than 14 groups participating and more events, plus the addition of 2 evening events in a marquee funded by a lottery grant. This consisted of an evening of music, drama and comedy performed by local children and adults; and a family barn dance and hog roast. Both sell-out events were hugely successful and attended by all ages and social and ethnic groups of the community.

This year we are passionate and determined to make the festival even bigger and better than in previous years, with more events and activities.
